Birthstone chart showing birthstone colors
Birthstone charts can trace their origins back to the Breastplate of Aaron which was arranged with twelve gemstones, each representing one of the twelve tribes of Israel.
Over time, many myths and superstitions gradually grew up regarding the gemstones and for centuries the gemstones and their respective colors have been considered lucky to people who are born in those months, hence the term birth stone colors.
